GroupID Identity Platform.
Moved a legacy desktop identity-management product to a modular web platform — directory, groups, workflows and self-service, rethought for IT admins.

The problem
GroupID's power lived in a dense desktop client. Admins knew it; nobody new could learn it. Moving to the web meant re-deciding what the product actually was.
The thinking
"Modernize without betraying muscle memory. Keep the mental model administrators already trust, then give every task a shorter, clearer path on the web."
Process
Four moments that shaped the work.
Auditing a legacy product
Inventoried every screen and task in the desktop client with the CTO and product team, then ranked them by real usage.
Modular web architecture
Split the monolith into modules — directory, groups, workflows, reports, automation — each shippable on its own.
Rules made readable
Designed a visual rule builder so dynamic group membership could be written and understood without query syntax.
Self-service for end users
Gave employees a portal for access requests, group membership and password resets, cutting IT ticket volume.
